Getting started

How do I create my first habit?
Tap the + button in the bottom right of the Today screen. Give your habit a name, pick an emoji and a color, then set your frequency and an optional reminder time. Tap Save — that's it. Your habit will appear on the Today screen immediately.
Does Tend require an account?
No. Tend has no account system at all. Your data lives on your device. If you enable iCloud sync in Settings, your habits will sync across your devices using your existing Apple ID — no new account needed.
Is Tend free?
No. Tend is $0.99 to download with no subscription required. There are no paywalled features, no premium tier, and no ads. We may offer a one-time purchase in a future update for optional advanced features.
What iOS version do I need?
Tend requires iOS 26 or later. The Apple Watch app requires watchOS 26. If you're on an earlier version, we'd encourage you to update — the app is built specifically around iOS 26's new design and capabilities.

Managing habits

Can I reorder my habits?
Yes. Long press any habit card and drag it to a new position. Your order is saved automatically.
How do I edit or delete a habit?
Swipe left on a habit card to reveal Edit and swipe right to reveal Delete options. You can also tap into the habit detail view and use the Edit button in the top right. Deleting a habit removes all of its history permanently — this can't be undone.
Can I track habits on specific days only?
Yes. When creating or editing a habit, set the frequency to Weekdays, Weekends, 3× a week, or Custom. With Custom, you choose exactly which days of the week the habit appears. Tend only shows habits on their scheduled days — and rest days never break your streak.

Streaks & tracking

How does Tend calculate streaks?
Streaks count consecutive scheduled days completed. If a day isn't scheduled (e.g. it's the weekend and your habit is weekdays-only), it doesn't count for or against your streak. Only missing a day you were supposed to show up resets it.
My streak looks wrong. How do I fix it?
Go to Settings → Recalculate all streaks. This re-reads your full history and corrects any discrepancies. If something still looks off after that, please contact us with details and we'll take a look.

AI coach

What is the AI coach?
Tend includes an on-device AI coach powered by Apple Intelligence. It offers personalized observations about your habits — a specific note about your streak, a suggestion for when to schedule a reminder, or ideas for related habits. It's designed to feel like a quiet, knowing nudge rather than a chatbot.
Does the AI send my data anywhere?
No. The AI coach runs entirely on your device using Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework. Your habit data never leaves your phone for AI processing. We have no servers and receive no data. Apple's privacy documentation covers the Foundation Models framework in detail.
The AI coach isn't showing up. Why?
The AI coach requires Apple Intelligence to be enabled on your device, and a compatible chip (A17 Pro, M1, or newer). If your device doesn't meet these requirements, the AI features are hidden automatically — all other features of Tend work normally. You can check your Apple Intelligence status in Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri.

Apple Watch

How do I install Tend on my Apple Watch?
The watch app installs automatically alongside the iPhone app. Open the Watch app on your iPhone, scroll to Tend, and make sure "Show App on Apple Watch" is enabled. The app should appear on your watch within a few minutes.
How do I add a Tend complication to my watch face?
Long press your watch face → Edit → tap a complication slot → scroll to find Tend. The circular complication shows a progress ring of today's completion. The rectangular complication shows your next incomplete habit and current streak count.
Can I check off habits from my watch?
Yes. Open Tend on your watch, tap a habit, and tap Mark Done. It syncs to your iPhone as soon as they're in range of each other. The complication updates immediately.

Widgets

How do I add a Tend widget to my home screen?
Long press your home screen → tap the + button in the top left → search for Tend → choose your preferred size. The small widget shows today's completion ring. The medium widget shows your next three incomplete habits.
The widget isn't updating. What should I do?
iOS manages widget refresh timing. Tend requests updates at midnight and every two hours, but iOS may delay them based on power state. Try opening the app once — this forces an immediate widget refresh. If the widget remains stale, try removing and re-adding it.

iCloud sync

How do I enable iCloud sync?
Go to Settings inside Tend and toggle on iCloud Sync. You'll also need iCloud Drive enabled in your iPhone's Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud. Your habits will begin syncing across all devices signed into the same Apple ID.
I got a new iPhone. Will my habits transfer?
If you restored from an iCloud backup, everything should come over automatically. If you had iCloud Sync enabled in Tend, your habit data will also sync down from iCloud within a few minutes of signing in on your new phone. If neither applies, habit data doesn't transfer — this is something we're looking at improving.

Privacy policy

Last updated: January 2026

What we collect

Nothing. Tend has no backend servers and collects no user data. Your habit names, completion history, streaks, and all other app data live exclusively on your device and, if you opt in, in your personal iCloud account.

iCloud

If you enable iCloud Sync, your data is stored in your private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework. Largent Labs has no access to this data. Apple's iCloud privacy policy governs how Apple handles this storage.

AI features

The AI coach in Tend uses Apple's Foundation Models framework, which runs the language model entirely on your device. No habit data is sent to Apple's servers for AI inference. No data is sent to Largent Labs. Your information never leaves your device for AI purposes.

Analytics

Tend contains no third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking. We may receive anonymized, aggregated crash reports through Apple's standard crash reporting if you have opted into sharing this with developers in your iPhone's Privacy settings. We cannot identify individual users from this data.

Children

Tend is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy materially, we will update this page and note the date above. Because we collect no data, changes are expected to be rare.
